The 2023 American Animal Hospital Association Accredited Practice of Year is…US!

AAHA is a non-profit organization for companion veterinary hospitals. Founded in 1933, its purpose is to simplify the journey towards excellence for veterinary practices. AAHA is well respected for its commitment to professional development, educational publications, and accreditation standards. As the only accrediting body for small animal hospitals, it evaluates applicants on over 900 quality standards, that go above & beyond state regulations. Approximately 15% of veterinary hospitals undergo this voluntary, but rigorous & comprehensive process and attain AAHA Accreditation. The outstanding achievements and contributions of accredited practice teams are recognized with the Accredited Practice of the Year Award (APOY).

Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital first achieved AAHA Accreditation in 2015, led by Jessica Kiffner, RVT. Practice owners Drs. Adam & Joanna Parson recently traveled to San Diego for AAHA’s annual conference, accompanied by Kiffner and office manager Jenna Burt, who prepared our 2023 APOY application.

The remainder of our staff in Columbus watched the livestream of the Award & Gavel Pass Ceremony on September 21st, anxiously awaiting the results. We erupted when UAVH was announced as the winner & watched our co-workers accept the 2023 APOY Award through tears of joy & excitement!

We congratulate our colleagues at the other finalist hospitals and celebrate their passion & dedication to the practice of veterinary medicine - TimberCreek Veterinary Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas, NorthStar VETS in Robbinsville, New Jersey & Palisades Veterinary Hospital in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

This is a remarkable milestone for our practice, and we are beyond proud of each & every member on our team. We thank AAHA for acknowledging our pledge to provide innovative surgical & medical services to our community, with kindness, compassion, and enthusiasm. And we are so genuinely appreciative of our clients, whose trust & loyalty inspire us to do better, every day.
